What a Pair of Worn out Suit Pants Brought me....
Mumma Post-
I was asked by a Senior Sister Missionary this week to help one of our Elders out with fixing a few of his Suit Pants.. He was a little desperate as 3 pairs had "let go" and needed repairs...
As my first ever Dear Elder (DE) Elder Ethan James left to serve on Tuesday (7/5/19) this week it was an absolute pleasure to do this for the DE in our Stake (I don't know his name but I hope to find out what his name is) As I looked at the seams that had come undone I began to think of my DE and sent a silent pray heavenward that he too will be looked after.. (I know he will be and is... but you know.. thoughts and all) I cried a little as I'm still in the tearing up for the smallest thought about the love I can not shower on him each and every time I think of him... (Such a SMOTHER!!!)
Then my thoughts turned more towards this DE serving in our Stake... He had tried his best SO many times to repair his pants.. With all kinds of different coloured threads and unskilled hand stitching... My heart was touched.... So much so that I felt I needed to put pen to paper and write a poem.. something I have not really done since YSA days. When I used to feel the influence of the Spirit A LOT!!! When you had time to think and write in a journal and just be.. so I'm grateful for this moment and wanted to share this experience and the poem with others...
Have a BLESSED mothers Day!!!
His favourite suit pants while he served
The waist bands stitching all undone
While he testified of our Father and His Son
The belt loop loose and now un-stitched
While others lives he did enrich
The button missing to do them up
While sharing the Living Waters for others to sup
Cuff worn out all tattered and torn
While true testimony of God was born
These pants worn out in the seat
While worshiping at our Saviours feet
My heart was truly touched this day
With all the meaning his favourite suit pants display
Oh thou good and faithful serving
Blessings forthcoming; well deserving
